This beautifully atmospheric photograph captures the Jaguar D-type at dawn driven by Peter Whitehead during the Rheims 12 hour race in 1954. Whitehead went on to win the race with Ken Wharton, scoring a maiden victory for the D-type in competition in only its second race.
